Expanding our partnerships: first steps in Spain and France
In 2026, the Association for Communities Participatory Development (ACPD) continues to grow and strengthen international partnerships. Our goal is to expand the geography of our work and build systemic cooperation that opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian communities both in Ukraine and abroad.
In January 2026, we held workshops for Ukrainian associations working in Spain and France. For ACPD, these meetings marked the first steps of a new direction—developing cooperation with civil society organizations in these countries.
We value the opportunity to share our experience while also learning from our European partners, laying the foundation for long-term collaboration.
One of the Association’s key areas of work is social cohesion, and we clearly understand how relevant this topic is today both for Ukrainian communities and for the European context. At the same time, communities in Ukraine are increasingly looking for international partners, and the Association has intentionally taken the initiative to build this cooperation in a systematic way. Support from the Ambassade d'Ukraine en France / Embassy of Ukraine in France is also extremely important for us—it is a clear confirmation that the Association’s experience is relevant not only in the Ukrainian context, but also for a broader European dialogue.
Leonid Donos, Executive Director of ACPD
European integration as a living process
We are convinced that European integration should be a living process. Yes, it involves documents, requirements, and policies—and this is necessary. But just as important are direct communication, trust, horizontal connections, and real dialogue between people and organizations.
What’s next
The next steps are ahead: continuing the dialogue, developing joint formats, and launching initiatives that will build trust and turn connections into real partnerships.
